Want to experience something different? A place where except the chair, table, fans and lights everything else had been created naturally. I am talking about a place named "Hidden Oasis" which is a resort to be specific and as the name suggests it’s really a hidden gem in the huge city of Pune. Many people don’t know about this place till now but it's not too far away from getting into the lists of major tourists spots in Pune and I will not be surprised even if it experiences the highest footfall. Being, new to the city even I wouldn't have known about it if not our college had taken us to this spot for a field trip and for which I can say for the rest of my life that my choice of entering into a media college hasn't gone wrong.
The place is a one-and a half
hour drive from the main city of Pune where buses and autos both plies. To be
precise the name location of the resort is in a place called Saswad where both
buses and autos ply and being new to the city I am not aware of the availability
of trains to this place. The place is up the hills and the picturesque
landscape is amazing and can any moment compete with the famous hill stations.
I suggest to travel with a
group as like other hilly areas here also you can do nothing in the evening and
mobile network goes without saying is pathetic. Though it's a resort and when
we hear it, we think of something luxurious as Mumbai's Taj hotel with spacious
rooms, swimming pools and other amenities. But no, "Hidden Oasis" is
nothing of that sort. I will not lie but even I had that kind of expectations
and my first impression of the place wasn't too good but then the experience
fulfilled my sadness. It's basically an eco-friendly project built on a huge
plot with a variety of flora and fauna. The plants that the guide made us see
were all created naturally and the animals that they keep were either rescued
or abandoned which includes ducks, an emu, guinea pigs and rabbits. My biology
isn't too good so i didn't understand half of the things the guide was telling
us about those plants but I did enjoy seeing them and posing for aesthetic
pictures with them. You may roam around if you want but have to be careful of
the path because the plot's huge and if you get lost in the mountains google
maps or mobile network will never be an option.
There's
a beautiful point where sunset can be viewed from the banks of a lake which
situated near the resort. The guide took us for a walk to the side of the lake
and it was very difficult to convince us to come back as long as the perfect
photo of us wasn't clicked that we can post on Instagram. It wasn't our fault. Every
time we don't get such a background with the Sun and the lake to capture
ourselves in the lenses. The best part was the evening when the management
arranged for a bonfire and everybody's hidden talent of singing and dancing
came out in "Hidden Oasis". There's a bridge named "Burma
bridge" which is created of wooden planks and ropes giving a feel of
Tarzan while crossing it. Not to worry as it has a net tied below it so that
one doesn't gets injured if accidentally falls. There are many military kinds
of activities and ideal for NDA students to have a trial run before the actual
exam.
A day or two is enough for the trip as after that it may feel monotonous. Definitely, you will create memories. You, will definitely feel an urge to return to the place again not only to see the plants and animals but also for the pleasant behaviour of the staffs and the management. There are much more to explore which couldn't be penned down. So, for those you must at least once to create this lifetime memory.
THANK YOU!💖
